its pretty cool tho, i guess i'm hooked on microsoft

+ they gave me an additional sub woofer too

I have a few friends that bought Asus laptops... they looked like shit after a few years of use and were pretty much tossed to the side. It is my opinion that they are shiny and new looking at first but sort of turn to crap after a short while. But hey, maybe they are more robust now best of luck, let us know how you like it in a couple years ya?

I have a few friends that bought Asus laptops... they looked like shit after a few years of use and were pretty much tossed to the side. It is my opinion that they are shiny and new looking at first but sort of turn to crap after a short while. But hey, maybe they are more robust now best of luck, let us know how you like it in a couple years ya?

well, every laptop is pretty much shit after a few years. you cant upgrade them properly and they get thrown around more and more the older they get plus, the battery is dead after one year...

Exactly. My macbook looks nearly brand new still... The few issues I've had Apple fixed my computer for free and replaced anything with cosmetically, no matter how minor. My laptop is 6 years old. (bought it used on craigslist, no applecare).

Wife has the new macbook pro, it's a nice machine.

Yep. I'm going on almost 5 here with my MBP. Same issue, want a new one, don't have a good reason. Logic Board went out last year, I didn't have applecare, wouldn't have mattered anyway as it would have been a year out of applecare, so basically I was 3 years out of warranty staring at a $1000 logic board repair, and apple fixed for free anyway.

i dont understand your point, i dont really care how they look on the outside, although all of my computers look the same as if they were new - whats more important is the hardware. i never had any problems whatsoever with any of mine, dell, hp or another dell, never had asus berofe and i think this is whats important. the biggest problem is the windows, always has been, and thats why i want to have a mac.

Happy with my new MacPro .. but miss aspects of windows and some of their applications/ease of use etc.
