Admittedly, the acting wasn't the best: Larry Fishburne: "Fuck this ship!"...but it was freaky nonetheless.
Fear again: That this is all fake and were actually just brains in buckets.

Exactly...
the fear is in moments and in concepts in this movie... Going to another dimension that closely resembles hell and bringing it back with you is the horrific aspect of it all. And that hell being a personal terrifying one and not devils with horns torturing you somehow, or my favorite idea of hell "being without your savior jesus"... the chick with no eyeballs saying, "come be with me... FOREVER!" that shit is scary...
deep space salvage missons in space are always a nice terrifying concept to go with in cinema, hollywood tends to fuck them up from that point on usually though.Comment
