topic should be renamed. ipods are not comign out monday, the magazine is. the ipods havent even been announced yet. according to those sites it says they will be announced in august so that means they wont be out til xmas or beginning next year.

would be nice if ppl got their info right before posting a topic. =x

Very true... Apple usually get their stuff out fast after introduction though, even if they have had major problems killing the demand for the mini's.

It seems with that much money involved to purchase an ipod, trivial things like that would not be an issue. They have caught so much flak for that little problem, it seems like they would fix it for customer-relation reasons. It is a big dissentive for me to buy one.

That is just something mac haters are bitching about... so what you have to spend $50 every 2-3 (even 4) years or whatever to replace it... its still worth all the money and double that!

I am a mac allie! I was under the impression that it cost almost as much to get the battery replaced as it would to buy a whole new one. That's what I heard. I don't own one nor do I know anyone that has had to replace their battery.

Yes, at that price it would be worth it. I want one! They are just soo damn expensive

dude, the product announcement is being released monday - and i'm sure they'll start taking pre-orders. According to those sites, speculation was Apple would do a product announcement in August, but I guess the company realizes that sooner is better than later, since their quarterly earnings are now dependant on ipods.

Who freakin cares about the title of this post...the whole point is to get the word out to the peeps and inform them to what is coming down the pipleline.

according to Newsweek..."The considerably tweaked fourth-generation iPod will roll out this week, and NEWSWEEK got an advance peek."

The article is also stating there is a 50% increase in battery life to 12 hours!
