Hello peeps ,

I am supposed to go see them when they come to Zurich 12/08 and I just need some feed back and how do their shows go, because I ve seen from pics that they do live shows also , a singer and a guitarist , I only know Darren Emerson from them never seen him live though only loved his GU Singapore CD , so to your key boards peeps.

Darren Emerson has quit Underworld since years. I saw them twice, last time was a year ago. On stage in both gigs it was just Rick Smith and Karl Hyde standing behind their synthesizers but they did an awesome and energetic gig nevertheless so don't miss their show. Most of the time they have a pretty impressive light and laser show as well.

I?ve seen them live once 2 years ago, and I?m probably gonna see them again in a few weeks time.

They rock live, they are kind of a "band" in the sense they use live instruments and plenty of siunging,and you may probably not know this, but you?ve heard some of their tracks before almost for sure, mainly Born Slippy from the "Trainspotting" soundtrack.

Sasha?s Cowpander used large chunks of their track Cowgirl (hence the name). They?re basically as classic and influential as a dance act can get.

As for styles, they?ve done many (big beat, Drum n?Bass...), but live you can expect some pumping house beats and I guess sometimes they get pretty "progressive" too.

Bululu, if you would like to know how they sound live, buy their live CD "Everything, everything". It was released in 2000 so it should be available for a good prize now in stores. The CD is just awesome and you can get a good feeling what will happen if you see them live.

I saw Underworld at Creamfields in Prague back in 02. They put on more of a concert style show (with everyone tuned into the maddness on stage) than what you would come to expect from a dj (a guy in a booth, people dancing). Kinda like some of the messages above say. One guy behind a bunch of big equipment and another guy bouncing and jumping around singing, playin guitar. Alot of energy; really gets the crowd going. You should have a blast.

^ ^ not only a good listen. As a die hard Underworld fan, I bought the CD and a few months later the DVD as well and if you watch this gig on a nice widescreen and a decent 5.1 system you know that the meaning of Life isn't 42 but Underworld. :P

yeah i got the DVD, but nothing beats Pulse by pink floyd for a live show on tape. that one is just phenomenal to watch.

Underworld live cd is fanastic. Everyone should own this cd. I have not seen the dvd but I should pick it up next I am out though.

I am a big Underworld fan, I have seen them about 6 times live. They have not played in England for 2 years now, but they are playing Global Gathering tomorrow night (which is their only gig in England this year as far as I know) and I have just managed to get a ticket today . I love em, they will put on a really good good show which is all up-beat, summat to dance to! It's very difficult to pigeon hole them into a category as their material is so diverse, but I would say that there is a fair bit of techno/house in there.

the same here gonna check them at Sudoeste, for those that doesnt know its a summer festival here in portugal and this year we will get names such as underworld,fatboyslim,basement jaxx,mylo,lcd soundsystem.. with so many good names I really cant miss it

been fan of Underworld for a long time now.
