^^^ Holy shit, -e-. I hadn't even opened the stock iPod headphones since I got them because I had heard they were terrible, but I tried them out the other day, and you're right. These things have surprisingly good low frequency reproduction, especially for their size.
for iPod stock phones!
EDIT: I've noticed that the bass response is much better when you rotate the phones so that the cord faces forward instead of down. Those little holes on the back of the buds apparently give them the oomph they need, and arranging them this way makes sure you get them in your ear.http://www.myspace.com/mjdubmusic

Different types of headphones have different purposes. Closed headphones like the Sony MDR-V700s will give you a better kick for the bassline because of the air tight seal. Open headphones, headphones that have a permeable mesh, will offer better sound clarity, so for me it all depends on the music I'm listening to, which is mostly EDM. I have a pair of the Sony MDR-V700s and was wondering if anyone prefers the Sennheiser 280s over the Sony headphones.I am no cyberwhore...

i think sennheiser are just producing the finnest speakers and pricing themselves way below ppl that are on par quality wise . to get equivilant of the hd650's u gotta pay 3 times more than the ?240 i paid for them .quality is paramount but money countsComment

they are a bit good .. not tried a pair of sony that can get any clarity yet . i am a lil deaf and i pick up on any deviation on sound ( for some reason crackle or humming goes through my body like someone hit a nerve) and though i havn't tried shure and grado .. even the bottom end seinnheiser have largest frequency range and lowest distortion levels of any headphones in price range . i went for the hd650's cos they got largest range of any and i mean any headset they are a lil heavy but even if u got a 20k sound system at home with the full works put on at full blast will u be able to come close to the the sensation of listening to these things . i could go on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on about these things cos they realy do wipe the floor with headsets u can get for under a ?1000 and the px100's from what iv'e checked against the sure E3's senn kick their ass too . if ure gonna buy headphones the two things u look for are frequency range and noise distortion not, don't they look cool . or i saw sasha with a set of these . or these feel so conmfy .. thems are girly criteria .blokes do numbers .. so read em .. price frequency and distortion
