one of the most engaging shows i have seen in a long time....
by the end of it i was begging to see what preview for next week they would show, but they didnt/......

this one is brilliant,

i cant beleive they called mayor bloomberg a jewbag. funny to poke fun at him for the whole fireman contract deal, but holy christ they dropped the bomb on him on antional TV with that one.

i haven't seen it....though i've been glued to The Shield everytime it's come on as well as Nip Tuck.

nothing against the show, but i watched 20 minutes of it and was already tired of it. it really wasn't what i expected at all and kind of let me down. i am surprised dennis leary took a role like that.

after thinking about though i realized something about FX..... they will never have a show that tops the shield....... ever.

it's on the network FX in the states....I guess it's a good show I don't know...I just know that a few thousand fireman have their ego inflated more than what it is now already.

no way, the show is all about the weaknesses the firemen have personally and on the job, the firehouse humor is done great , but the actual draw to the show is how they introduced each guy and his personal flaws, this show isnt a "show about fire" its about a group of ppl who have been beaten down and how they deal with it doing the same thing that cost em so much.

sorry for the "emotional " insight, but i have a ton of family and friends that are firemen so i can see the connection.

either way, give the show a look

Meant to watch it, i believe it was on Wednesday?? But not sure my girlfriend has been telling me about it for weeks now (i'm a firefighter) But i guess the re-run is on tonight at 11:00. Will check it out and give a response later...

I think it looks stupid. There never would have been a show about New York Firefighters before the World Trade bombing on 9/11. The way I see it, the network is just hoping for ratings from the show by preying on the feelings of everybody that was offended by 9/11. The idea sounds stupid... every time I think of it, I can't help but think of network execs talking:

"I've got it... New York Firefighters! The ratings will be through the roof! People love New York Firefighters! We'll be #1 on the charts!"

I don't know about you guys... but I think it just sounds like network execs trying to get ratings from the public's feelings, instead of from the show.
