What an absolute load of bollox, i`ve never heard so much shit in my life. It should be alcohol and violence are related, as we all know. How many times do you go out on the town and see a bunch of fellas brawling late at night due to drinking too much? Loads! How many times do we hear of domestic violence caused by drinking.. loads! Now get all the same guys stoned and what would you have? I think i`ll let you answer that question because it`s too damn obvious.

Fans attending the Euro 2004 soccer tournament, now taking place in Portugal, are being treated to relaxed enforcement of the country's marijuana laws. Instead, Portuguese police are focusing their resources on preventing terrorism and combating soccer hooliganism.

The nation's leading law enforcement authorities have concluded that leaving marijuana smokers alone will help achieve both these objectives. The calming effect of smoking marijuana makes fans less likely to fight, while ignoring marijuana use allows police to focus more resources on preventing real crime - such as a terrorist attack.

Portuguese authorities concluded the former after consulting with their cannabis-friendly Dutch counterparts, who faced little hooliganism during Euro 2000, which took place in the Netherlands.

"We have to use common sense," Isabel Canelas, a spokeswoman for the Portuguese police, told London's Guardian. "If people are smoking but not kicking each other, not beating each other, and not making a problem, why on earth would an officer go and ask 'Is that cannabis?'"

I honestly believe that the candidates this election are the worst this country has seen, at least most certainly in my life time.
