try not to smoke at all. you will feel the add'd benefits after a month or so. but you really gotta wait. ... like words come to your mouth quicker. you understand people, and most of all people understand you. your mouth is never dry, nevAr. you can run the mile by three minutes faster. you read, write, and DO math. it's fucking great being sober.

I agree with this statement, somewhat. I agree that most people get dumb on this stuff. Its because it really does effect your synapses and especially the short term memory. Most of my friends that smoke suffer from this, however, I don't. Seems weird, maybe, but I am pretty much the same person even when I'm high. I take tests stoned because I can concentrate better. If I'm doing more then one thing at a time, I agree because I can't concentrate on more then one thing. But if I only need to concentrate on one thing, its more of an adv then a disadv. Otherwise, I would agree, I know people that should just quit, or at least not smoke most of the time, a lot of people become retards.
I quit smoking weed years ago because of drug testing and my sypapses, short term memory or concentration did not get any better. I quit all forms of recreational drug use and only drink on special occasions and I really can't say I'm a better person because of it.
I miss smoking a joint every now and then but I'd miss having a roof over my head more.

I quit smoking 2 and a half years ago... i originally was taking too many drugs (smoke,x,etc) so I just wanted a break. After a month I tried it again and hated it... it makes me paranoid now. I've smoked maybe 4 times since then when I get too drunk to realize what I'm doing, and I hate it each time. Alcohol is my drug of choice now
lol. pot-o-rama does affect you. and it does make you silly and goofy, and have some short term memory loss. that is known. but it all comes back ... i think. also i have known people who smoke blinties (blunt) and fucking ace complex derivatives. i could careless what you do, you could smoke crack as far i care. just do not bother me, and do not affect my life.
in general i was a "good" boy. never got into trouble by the law, and never had a family, girlfriend, etc drug related problems. but that is me. the problem is the other peops out there, the ones that destroy it for us all. we had a chick in highschool who "smoked" was driving and ended up killing one person, and almost another. another story is tweakers ... people who fucking should not consume ANYTHING ... but air and water. food is pushing it. we had a fella who "smoked" and lost it. started rolling around on the ground, and la la la. i told him to get into the closet and stay there. and so he did. later on we had a buddy come over, and there he was lurking out of the closet, he was told to close the door and stay in there. it was the funniest shit. word?

I don't drink myself stupid when I drink. If I do I usually get a taxi because I live a 5-dollar cab ride from a whole plethora of bars, or a 20-minute walk from home. I can always quit drinking to let loose and start tripping or rolling.
Well i smoked it solid for 5 years up untill May 2000 but decided i`d had enough. Every day i`d come home from work and whilst still dressed in my suit sit down, build a biffta and smoke my self daft. I`d still be sat there 2 and 3 hours later, i never got anything done. Apart frombeing a lazy git when charged it was costing me a bloody fortune, i`d smoke at least 4 or 5 joints a night every night and more at the weekend. I didn`t find it hard to stop at all, i just went on holiday for 3 weeks and didn`t miss it at all.
Some others have said they didn`t feel any difference when they`d stopped but i did. Getting up was so much easier and i felt as though i was alive in a morning. Oh and then theres the fact that i have more money in my pockect
