We were going through and hearing songs he knew and then listening to how and what you did with them.
Mind your own goddamn business!
J/K .... thanks again...
I am so in love with the Alex Smoke track - OK .... I am playing with it a lot and discecting it and hopefully it will be my foray into production (well remixing at least to start out with) but mainly as a personal learning project, and used in one of my mixes...
Although to aim high and expect to get your first remix ever signed and released is a fun sort of delusional world to live in I bet...
I gave it a go Mike. Definetely a lot of progress has been made since the last couple of mixes. The mixing is very clean. However, the programming and track selection isnt what I usually enjoy. This mix has that new sound / feel to it. To me, the tracks seems a little shallow, not much depth. I have a hard time getting lost in it because of all the bleeps and blips. Reminds me a lot of the trentmoller and teifshwarz feel. I dont know any of the tracks you used, and I know you have been working on Ableton, so Im not sure how much deconstructing and reconstructing you have been doing. Thanks for the set....looking forward to the next one as long as its a little deeper, harder, and more solid.

I'm sorry but the tracks in this mix are yummy ( I never doubt my track selection silly pants) and all those blips and beeps you hear are called techno or tech-house... it's this new thing that robots invented or something...
once again you put together a set showing some really nice mixing skills. i found two feelings in this mix. one that i would classify as a good cd mix, and the other a good live mix. i've heard great sets that used both before, but the moods are usually seperated to either the first half or second half of the cd respectively. i found that your mix combined the two feelings almost from track to track. having a deep non vocal track going into more of a club-like vocal track. i would like to see the set have a little more cohesion from track to track. as for track selection, that's up to you man, your the man making the mix. good mix though, and several tracks i didn't recognise. thats always a bonus. keep it up!
once upon a time, machines were mice, and men were lions. now that its the opposite, it's twice upon a time
daveman I hear you on that... Going for that live mix feel when you are by yourself working on the mix can be tricky cause you are focused on your own groove and not the momentum of those around you (on a dancefloor or just jammin with friends).... I think I shall go for a cunty nasty hard and harder mix... or GABBER? no, the first one, not gabber.
Maybe for you.....not for me, but what do I know, Im the Mercury Poser.

Sure, if youd like to put the extra time into making something a little more progressive, with some builds, breaks, and breakdowns, Id be happy to give it a listen. I had a hard time making past the second track, however, I like to support my fellow MS'ers, so I rode it through. Mike, I know you cant please everybody, but I was just trying to share my honest opinion.
I appreciate it, and I'm just being sassy back.... You didn't say anything out of turn, it just seems to be a difference in tastes mostly... and structure-wise I hear you on some points but everyone's got a different groove so a lot of the stuff you said is actually in place for the kind of sound I am drawn to and respond to...
It's ok Greg, I'm just a bitch about things sometimes... the times with minutes or hours in them.
I think the rest of your words were right on Mike and I appreciate the kindness. This mix is a bit different than New Years Disillusion, and the fact that I dont jive with it doesn't mean that I'm not going to listen to your future mixes. This board is all to familiar with how a Djs music style can change from set to set and year to year. Mike, Im always open to listening to your mixes and I look forward to the next one.....maybe next time! Names Todd btw...not sure if you thought I was Greg.
Yeah and you'd have one of the biggest basket cases on your hands with that one.
I'm actually working on a remix of Nino's right now and from what he's heard of it. He definitely wants to release it. So that'll be my first real release. I just need to finish the damn thing.

My advice to you is this... Keep working on it until it's done.
