My apartment burnt down in '01 while I was living in Chicago. Thank God for renter's insurance...totally took care of everything, and then some.

My advice to all of you...GET IT!! I think they ended up totaling what was lost and it was around $22,000. Couldn't imagine us having to buy all that stuff on our own w/o them.

They put us up in a pimp hotel room for 3 weeks downtown and just went out with their per diem they provided. I remember a few nights at Crobar that Allstate funded.
