i remember once when i was like 6.....i was lighting matches in my room and throwing them on the carpet while they were still lit....almost burned my house down....my dad came home and wrapped a belt around his hand and punched me in the face....i dont think it was a hard hit but it hurt like hell....that was after he threw me in the air and my head hit the ceiling...

my dad only hit a couple of times.... my mom... wow she threw everything but short of chucking the maid servant at me....

slippers, sandals, brooms, toys, man name it.... eventually after 6th grade it stopped hurting.... she still tried till 9th grade and finally gave up ....

now she uses a stronger weapon ..... mothers love.....

yep... and deservedly so. i used to have to go in the back yard and actually "pick" which stick my dad would use to smack my ass. i also got clobbered in school as well. i had this one teacher named mr adams who had a cut down oar with holes drilled in it for a more aerodynamic swing. i got it once and never did anything wrong in that class again.

Got spanked too. Usually not too bad, unless I really fucked up, but then again I only got what I deserved. My parents never ever used anything besides their hands to whoop my ass though...which I respect. Belting or clubbing is fucking lame and definitely qualifies as abuse for me, and the day I see a parent to that to their kids i'm gonna give them some of their own 'tough love'.

Fuck, I was once at a Judo tournament, and the kid next to me had lost his match. His dad went berserk and gave him a karate kick in his kidneys. I was SO pissed off, but much too small to take on the guy...That kid is now Dutch champion and European Champion Judo in his weight class...

I was getting my share of beating growing up, some of them fare some of them not. Couple not so fare I still remember. My dad was big on name calling and telling me I was useless and stupid any chance he got. It had definitely took me a while to gain some self confidence. That is why I promised myself not to do it with my kids. Hopefully I can keep my promise. But I am all for a little spanking.

So to paraphrase, I am all for physical abuse, but not emotional.
