yep... and deservedly so. i used to have to go in the back yard and actually "pick" which stick my dad would use to smack my ass..

2. yes they did, i used to have to actually go get the belt and wait in my room. and i think they did it right. i look at the kids i grew up with who had lazy parents who didnt care about grades or behaviour and they turned out not so good. they mow lawns for the town, one bartends during the day, one works a dock at UPS, few of them are quite literally homeless wastes. and then i look at the ones who had strict parents and we are accountants, lawyers, S&P analysts, electricial engineer, one owns his own car shop.

my dad only hit a couple of times.... my mom... wow she threw everything but short of chucking the maid servant at me....

slippers, sandals, brooms, toys, man name it.... eventually after 6th grade it stopped hurting.... she still tried till 9th grade and finally gave up ....

2. agreed, but times are changing, i dont know the best way to raise a kid, but being stricts isnt always the answer. Sometime taking away a video game system can be just as devastating as a spanking can.

computer science major from a good school
my bro's: professional runner, and the other is going for PHD in poly sci

so i wouldnt say you have to whoop @ss to turn out ok
