I agree also, the breakroom is a place I try to avoid. I'd rather eat at my desk or go run errands than rather have to sit in there and create small talk.

My social skills are second to none, but like I said I can't stand small talk. I have no problem carrying on an intelligent conversation about the affairs of the world but that's probably the last thing people want to do as they spoon vegetable beef soup into their pie hole.
Here's the dilemma in my eyes: If I walk in and say 'So, it sure is hot out there' then when I leave, people will think 'Boy, that was a stupid thing for him to say.' But if I walk in and out without uttering a word they'll think 'Boy, that guy is a real asshole.'

I hate having pointless conversations with people I could give two shit's about by the end of the week. You'll get used to ignoring these people as life goes on. Most of them prefer to avoid eye contact and stare at the floor as they walk past anyway.
