GMAIL - Google

I did... but it wasn't new for me. I'm not worried about google trying to sell me crap, or some agency getting to read the stupid things I send over gmail, or some evil scheme to get to know every little thing about me. I prefer to get paranoid about other things. Wouln't use gmail or any free mail service or even a paid one for serious, unencrypted information. And as for google tracking my searches, rejecting cookies is enough.

I don't think everybody's scared about the rest because Google is such a widely-used part of the Internet. I mean, ms is a big part of computing but they don't index every file on your computer and randomly search it for stuffComment

well... there was an interesting debate over the ms Office fast search utility that indexed every Office file back in the day and it was pretty tricky to uninstall. And IE still keeps a permanent log of every url you visit in a file called index.dat. Clearing the cache doesn't delete it, and if you try to access it from "DOS" it's in a hidden directory, so if you don't know the exact path, you can't get to it and delete it.
So, I wouldn't be so sure about ms not trying to look at what am I doing.Comment
