    stabbing... sad news

    my roommate and i were driving over to a bar yesterday evening just after 8 for a couple of beers... saw a bunch (at least 7 or cop cars swarming around... saw a guy face down at the side of the road surrounded by police, figured, its 4/20, probably some kind of massive pot bust.

    talked to my dad this morning, and he asked me if id heard anything... turns out that a 17 year old girl working at mcdonalds down the street had been stabbed to death by this guy. she was my brothers friend and his girlfriends best friend, she was over at my parents house and was completely inconsolable when news got to them at 10ish.

    apparantly the guy has no connection to the girl, and the motive is unknown... my brother had given her a ride home from school that afternoon. really makes you wonder why somebody would do this to a teenage girl FFS, kinda puts things into perspective.

    just thought id share this sad story, kinda struck me when my dad told me this morning, gonna go see how my brother is doing after work.

      Damn!

      That is some serious shit to happen. I have had 2 of my friends die from a murder and it is one of the most horrible things to happen. It really effects so many people in so many different ways. I hope your brother can find a way to take this well.

                  Sorry for your brother's and everyone else involved's loss. Reminds me of the closing of Stand by Me.

                  to College and eventually became a lawyer. Last week he entered a
                  fast food restaurant. Just ahead of him, two men got into an argument.
                  One of them pulled a knife. Chris who would always make the best peace
                  tried to break it up. He was stabbed in the throat. He died almost
                  instantly. Although I haven't seen him in more than ten years I know
                  I'll miss him forever. I never had any friends later on like the ones
                  I had when I was twelve. Jesus, does anybody?

                              that news is awful and i'm sorry to hear it. i lost a friend years back to the same type of death but she was home and her mother found her. in any event a loss of life, no matter how the circumstance is bad but this type of death, for which there is no rhyme or reason is completely senseless.

                                      Similar thing happened in Belgium last week: a 16-yr-old guy enters the largest train station of the capital during rush hour when two kids stop him and try to steal his MP3 player. When he resists, they pull a knife and stab him five times. The guy didn't survive.

                                      Wtf is wrong with some people's set of morals and values these days? Parents should belt their kids again instead of letting them vegetate in front of the tube imo.

                                      And as for those who commit such crimes for no reason at all: chain 'em to a pillory in the middle of a central square of the city and let the crowd have a swing at them for a couple of days. After that, there's enough demand for organ donors or subjects for drug testing. At least in that way they can pay back a part of their debt to society. Yeah I know I sound like a nazi, so fucking what?
