Ti?sto, twice voted the #1 DJ in the world by DJ Magazine, will make Olympic
history on
Friday, August 13, when he becomes the first DJ ever to perform in an Opening
Ceremony
of the Olympic Games.

Has anyone heard anything about this? thats fucked...
whether you like tiesto or not this opportunity is great for electronica music as a whole. that said i personally do not enjoy him live. on the other hand his cd's keep me interested. is he digweed? of course not. but lets look at the bigger picture here. and stop all the bitchin. at least it's an actual dj and not some famous person pretending to dj (paris hilton, tommy lee, etc)
my apologies!! i saw the tiesto thread but didn't think to look at it, because its tiesto. in either case they probably could of found a better dj to open the olympics with, someone from greece maybe?

Yeh, to strangle it to death in front of millions of unsuspecting ears.
its true unfortunately. people who dont listen to electronic music (a lot of the time, not all the time) dont listen because they are all led to believe its complete shit, because all they hear is tiesto brand cheese or paul oakenfold doing whatever the hell he's doing lately.
get diggers up there i say, he'll get the whole crowd moving, and then electronic music (and [ms]) can take over the world, one rapper at a time
I agree with Anthony post above, any kind of promotion of electronic music should be welcomed, and I have to say Tiesto is not the most unfortunate of all DJ's.
Re:: Athens Olympic Games 2004 part I ...PLUS TIESTO
Tiesto opening the Olympics! what the F**! Would most definitely have not been my first choice but I guess it really is a sign of how prolific dance music now is. TV commercials, soccer, the Olympics and next schools and soon the world!
