obviously, tennis has taken a huge hit, especially the mens games. federer is boring, but great, and needs to be challenged. but what are the views in europe on tennis. is it popular like it was here in america 10 years ago?

my big question is will europe be waiting for this summer's matches between nadal and federer on the clay? nadal has the streak going on clay and federer has just dominated. i cant see the US fan going crazy even though this is a huge set coming up.

I don't get this Federer is boring thing. I mean, he's just incredible to watch, a complete master of his sport. And it's not like he's winning all the time - he just cannot seem to beat Nadal.

The big one will be at the French cos it's the one Federer needs, and yet to win it he'll have to beat Nadal. Should be a classic.

Why won't the States get into it - cos there's no yank in it?

no, its just that america completely lost interest after king sampras left. outside of agassi there is no personality or magnetism in the sport. your comments on federer are spot on though, and that is the reason he is so boring. he just makes it look boring, he is never against the wall and never allows anyone to get up on him in a manner that makes you sit on the edge of your seat. agassi in the US open here in NYC, you should see that, .... the place goes bananas for him. but federer, eh, he has zero public appeal outside of frontrunner fans..

Tennis was a lot more exciting before Sampras became "King". I always thought he was boring and was way more into tennis, all of the years prior to that. I was very elated when he finally got out. Dumbass spic.

^^^^ Yeah you see I admired Sampras for what he did, but never got real excited about watching him, it just wasn't interesting tennis. But Fed, even when he's kicking someones ass it's great to watch cos he just does things with a racket no-one else does. The super slo-mo's of him are fucking unbelievable.

what happened to Andy Roddick??

the tennis world realized the only talent he has is his serve, he has consistently been neaten by lower ranked players for the last few years. kinda falling off the top ten in recent months. he can play one match and utterly dominate, but then he will come out the next day and lose to someone who isnt even ranked in the top 100. his head fell out of the game once he became a MTV figure and liked being in the spotlight rather than practicing. same thing with venus williams. she would rather be in movies and on TRL than winning the french open...


you should have heard her interview with mike and mad dog last friday. she balked on tennis talk and wanted to talk about her appearances.... it was so bad it isnt even up on thier site..
