thought my internet connection had died on me ... tried getting on to the site every 20 mins .. nothing works ... its like going through cold turkey ...

everyone should start donating to the site again so that something like that doesnt happen again

here's a breakdown of what happened.

Back when were hosting the site as MercuryNation last april, I had created a few subdomains on MN.Com. Even though I deleted them later, apparently the server software left odd entries of the deleted domains in various config files on the server. When we moved MN to the present dedicated server shortly after, the zombie entries quietly piggy backed onto the new server but were not dispplayed in the software (sort of like your registry settings showing software keys for stuff that is uninstalled, but you dont see the program itself it in the program files folder / start menu etc.)

Yesterday I tried setup one of those domains once again as its independant site on this server.....and all hell broke loose

Anyways I got to the bottom of it and finally fixed it. Thanks to Aga reminding me to recompile the webserver which I was putting off waiting on a response from the DataCenter.

Anywho all's well that ends well.

i have NO idea what you just explained here, i'm soooooo happy its fixed!! Every morning I visit 4 sites, MS is one of them and today it was quite scary to be honest! I thought I was IP banned or sth ...
