i checked those out as well. man o man. one of these days we will have full control like the SLR film cameras. Seems to get closer and closer every year. I go to a pro camera shop downtown once in a while. and grill questions, this week it's going to be about the G6. Can not wait to play with that puppy.

SLR are super nice, but not worth the money, unless of course you have it. The technology is not there yet, so if you have the bucks go ahead and drop it. I will buy an SLR when Foveon X3 technology is perfected ... still very new. Here is a link if you are interested ... http://www.foveon.com/X3_tech.html So what is so special asdf? Well, it's the closest effect you will get to a film type camera. It still needs years to evolve and become a standard. Some cameras in todays market use it (Sigma). There are some sample pictures, yet I have looked at some others which are just fucking asdf_woot_woot great.

i like it because it's small.

For that $$ is a Cannon that much better?

I Highly recomend you this Sony Cybershot. Very compact, great LCD display, 5.1 Mpx. This is a great choice. It cost USD 399 @ best buy or circuit city

To be frank, I am not sure. I went to play with one yesterday, and yet they did not have one in stock. It's a beautiful camera, all Canons are.

I might get a G5 just because they will be dirt cheap. It's only 5 megapixel, but like I said I am going to wait for the x3 technology to come out and drop a bundle of money.
