In some places that might be true, but here in St. Louis, we've sold out every game for years and will continue to sell out every game for years, and our payroll isn't on the same page with the Yanks and never will be. The Yankees can afford to pay people absurd sums of money because they have a massive market, a huge fan base, and a great television contract, not because they have fans that go to games.

There's nothing wrong with any of that, and more power to them, but selling out a stadium consistently is just one piece of the puzzle.

thanks to the fans, the yanks will be one of only about 5 teams in the history of the MLB to completely finance thier own stadium. the only thing NYC and NYS are doing for them is putting up an xtra elevated section of train tracks and the paving below it.

shit.fuck.wow......... ross and the redlegs pull one from their proverbial asses in the bottom of the ninth to beat the cards. just got home from bedlam at great american. that kinda game makes the pain of 6+ dollar shit beers, the voucher for the dave concepcion bobblehead (they didn't have enough) and parking 15 blocks uphill away all worth while...

Anybody been watching Greg Maddux pitch lately?

That guy is my favorite pitcher ever. Dude has zero heat. In my lifetime, i have not witnessed anyone master ball placement like he has. He defines pitching for me. He's like 90 years old and he's still flinging a wiffle ball out there. Respect.

WOW!!! did you see him pitch 8 scoreless yesterday? I'm a Cubs fan and I hate to see him go but if he gets a chance to play in playoffs this late in his career then go for it. He pitched a GREAT game yesterday!

^ yeah, great game. i'm glad the dodgers didn't blow it for him when they took him out. both pitchers from both teams were very on point. pretty boring game from an offensive perspective.

ummm.. ok,, its official.... every single division outside of NL east is up for grabs now... this is why i love baseball.. a few weeks ago every mets and cards fan were booking thier playofff tickets, and now, the cards might not even get in, the mets look a little worse with glavine pitching shitty and their setup man in a car accidetn, and delgado and wright arent hitting for shit. the yanks and bosox are neck in neck in two races if you add the whitesox, detroit and twinkies into it... wow... i love baseball.

seriously, watching baseball tonight everyday, paying attention to the things like utley's streak, manny is on one as well, watching webgems every night...nothing beats it..
