'fraid not. I've still got some time, though -- my warranty doesn't run until the end of the year. MDX is probably the front runner right now. Part of me is starting to really wonder if I really want an SUV at all, though. As I think I mentioned earlier in the thread, gas mileage isn't a huge deal for me, but there comes a point at which I just look at gas prices and wonder why I would intentionally put myself in the position of having to pay that much when I really don't need an SUV.

The real problem is that nothing is jumping out at me. I don't like 90% of American made vehicles out there, but I don't feel like paying what you have to pay for a foreign SUV, when I know that most of them are basically overgrown station wagons. I'd just as soon buy a luxury sedan for that amount of money. Part of the appeal of the Hummer that began this whole thread was that it was fairly rugged but still had pretty nice amenities for a pretty reasonable price.

Oh well. I'll probably start test driving some cars once it gets too cold to drop the top on my current ride...

^In that price range, you could do better imo Toasty. I was not impressed with the 35 at all. The M is nice tho.

btw, something i don't think has been mentioned yet in the SUV category:

VW Touareg, V10 Diesel. Basically a Porsche Cayenne, with a clean burning turbo diesel engine. Fuel economy, power, suv. Again tho, doubt you'd want to take it offroad.

the 07 G35 is WICKID Jenks.... I wasn't too impressed with the shape of 06's but DANG they've re-done the 07 completely

ah, had not seen the 07. nice looking (minus the wheels, would definitely go for an upgrade there, not a huge fan of multi spoke). The 06 g35 was near the bottom of the list of everything in that range imo. The 07 is looking more like the M series.

the only point of contention I have with the 07's are the gas consumption (in comparison to others in the same league). EPA estimates 17/24 city/highway

but then again, not too many cars are 306 ponies under the hood

As long as I live I´ll never understand the americans fascination with SUV´s, Japanese sports cars, and much less japanese SUV´s.

I spend my days surrounded by cars, car magazines, car dealers...whatever...I just don´t bloody get it. Though I´m supposed to, at work.

I mean, I can´t say anything like that to some Honda or Toyota representative who I´m dealing with, but sometimes I do feel like saying, "I don´t care, I fucking hate 90% percent of your fucking line, just give me my rebate"

You´d assume right. I love german cars.

Okay, so my previous post was kinda harsh, but honestly, I completely fail to see the appeal in SUV´s and about 90% of all Japanese sports cars.

The last ones for example, are generally regarded over here either as cars for "tuning jocks" or 2nd rate soccer players.

And most SUV´s...well, they say "middle class-daddy´s-girl-single babe" to me when they´re small or "upper-middle class father of three from the suburbs" when they´re bigger.

Of course, we´re talking completely differebt cultures and socities though, so I´m not that well positioned to judge the options americans make regarding cars.
