elective surgury in thier eyes. you wouldnt beleive what i had to go through for my wisdom teeth. all 4 were compacted into the gum , yet the insurance didnt want to cover it. luckily my dentist is a standup guy and wrote a letter and gave them xrays so they would cover at least part of it. they ignored anesthetics, and post op stuff. obviously we cant nationalize insurance, but we should fucking force them to be non profit and give them limits like we did for the utilities. i dont know about anyone else, but my health is more important than my cable and electricity.

INSURANCE COMPAnies. they make so much money and spend so much on marketing. the US gov't back in the 70's and 80's jumped in and implemented massive regulation on the utility companies since they were raking us over the coals and giving everyone a hard time when they would change companies. (NY phone companies would kill power on your block to take thier telephone lines down from your house if you changed) now the physical lines are owned by certain companies, but the govt forced them to allow other companies to use them. also, they limited the money exuctives from cable, phone, power companies could earn in proportion to earnings, and also, they limited profitability. they forced them to hold reserve funding for research and repairs. etc etc.

nowadays, outside of Con Agra, heinz and the car companies, insurance has remarkable earnings. and they give everyone a hard time about surgery, healthcare etc. i say, we need to stop the insurance companies from this shit, and tell them to offer care when its needed. however, we cannot take it to the point like you have in belgium simply for the reason that our poor people, and the illegal immigrant issues prevent that from ever happening. you would fund it with taxes, but the amount of people not paying taxes thorughout the country would destroy the budget, just look at social security. SS has about 15 years left before we are all fucked. i guess we can thank mexico and salvador for that. the monies that are diverted to the latin american nations through illegal immigrants could have helped drastically if it were actually collected.

Ye well, add the insurance doctors have to take for medical malpratice suits and I get the picture completely.

Even though I take a piss on my country once a while, sometimes I have these moments when I think it's not so bad to live in Belgicum at all. In fact, our health care, social security, educational system and what not are the only reason I'm staying put.

the same in our country but its about 1500 dollars
anesthetics are really cheap so whenever I have to go to a dentist shes not allowed not even to look at my teeth without one - I hate dentists in general - they make pain ughhhh
