sad news, he was one charismatic show man, he always took great risks when he was doing shows about all sort of animals, but i guess it didnt work this time, i feel sorry for the guy, he will surely be missed

Death by stingray, i always thought he would die by a komodo dragon. That episode when he got chased by that beast was great. Defo way before his time. R.I.P. Steve Irwin you paved the way for crazy, insane, lost their mind, nothing to lose peeps out there.

I'm going out on a limb here, I have to say I was not a fan. The environmental/conservationist tag seemed mainly to come from him. The zoo was his father's business originally and he built it to a great business. This makes him a great business man and he was considered a great entertainer by a lot of people.. Fair enough we all have different tastes!

The thing I can't forgive him for is that as a father and husband he had a responsibilty to keep both himself and his family safe.

I never felt comfortable about the way he handled animals. This article sums it up pretty well,

^^^ always have some one with different opinions but IMO, look at the positives! Conservation. He has spread a good word is spread amongst people regarding animals. The world is at a lose without him IMO. RIP

the man was a legend and one of the best animal handlers in the world....in fact all of his peers agree with this....

He has bought tons of land in australia with his own money to save animals lives.

I was very sad when I heard this...I always enjoyed his shows/documentaries....its a very sad day.

it seems i have upset a few people. let me explain my point of view.

while i feel for his family, etc.

i wasnt a big fan, and a guy like that is always playing with fire!

if thats what he wanted to do. then that was the risk he took.

obviously i wouldnt wish that on anyone.

you got the wrong man. I was for him and watched him all of the time. I was telling the other asshat to look at the positives of what he has done for animals.

when I first saw the show I thought he was pushing the excitement bit too far - seemed fake, but very soon I realized how very passionate this guy is about animals, you could see his honest enjoyment in each moment - that is what I like about him the most!
