i'm not black but i'm pretty sure if there is ANY difference has something to do with where the population comes from, i.e. hot places, whereas lighter-skinned people come from colder places, like northern europe. differences in bodies due to the environment.

1) we like to roll in groups as a way of controlling situations that may arise, also we enjoy being together and clowning on things we may see, its just the enjoyment of company.

2) calling each other nigga, isnt very common actually, but its a way of taking a negative word and flipping it around to word that means "friend" when someone says "my nigga" thats "my buddy, who is there for me", but then again theres all kinds of take on the word "nigga" both positive and negative.

3) soul music like other forms of music has just evolved, theres still soul artists doing their thing, hip hop isnt the only exclusive black music out today, but alot of soul music has influenced hip hop and hip hop producers. see: gnarls barkley

Why is it that black culture seems to go out of its way to allienate itself from main stream culture? No other race seems to do this. Asain, Indian, and other cultures have intergrated successfully into mainstream (white) culture while still maintaining a sense of heritage and pride. what bothers me the most is when people get touchy about this shit. why is it not ok for a caucasian to say this word? do you actually get offended if someone jokingly says this, because it's almost never used as a serious deroggatory comment... not that I use it, but if one white dude says to another "whatup nigga," it mean's he's trying to be cool, not that he's trying to insult an entire race.
