Well, i'm a prog house head - and the vibe bites in those clubs. I suppose if you like hip-hop the vibe might be better. Plus - i'm talking about somewhat major DJ nights and not Remedy @ DNA or something.

Did you see Porter at 1015? Redanka and T at 1015? Vibe super good both nights.
I suggest you check out the big djs in the intament settings of Satellite at Anu.

Actually, the last month or so I've spent my weekends prepping my house to sell, but as of a month ago, it sucked. I heard that both those nights at 1015 were a bit quiet though. I haven't seen a good vibe at 1015 since the last 3 day weekend or at a D:Fuse night. I'm sure there have been a few others too that were decent - but I'm brain farting.

SF vs. LA is something that should basically be black and white for anyone. There is no way in hell I would ever live in LA. I'll go check it out sometimes, but SF all the way for me.

That's not really a rip on LA. It's just SF suits who I am more. They're so different that it should be obvious to you.

As for the prog house scene, I think SF beats New York. There's not as much of a parade of big DJs as there used to be, but there's so many great local DJs, and so many intimate, fun parties with a group of people all very into the music, that it blows away any scene I've been too.

If you like places where most people are all decked out, looking beautiful, and looking to party, though not caring too much about the music, then LA is probably for you. If you like a smaller group of nice people, all heavily into music, and all hanging out in jeans, then SF is prob for you.

As Scott said, come to Anu.

BTW, I'm from New York, so I don't say SF is better from an uninformed perspective.

i love to party in san fran but you really can't beat la. the weather is better. more options all the way around. it's really the way to go. with godskitchen/spundae moving into their new digs, they'll be 2 blocks away from the avalon. makes for some interesting options on a saturday night.

don't know how ruby skye is now but the last time i was there about 2 years ago, it freakin rocked. great crowd. good system. no outdoor area though. what's up with that in the san fran clubs. no outdoor areas in any club.

i've been to 1015 a handful of times and couldn't find fresh air anywhere. i was probably faded and lost everytime anyways.

san francisco is very compact. this makes it hard for places to have outdoor area without keeping neibors up all night. this is one of the bad things about sf.
yuppies move into the neiborhood with club and then get them shut down.
