Just FYI.... UAE, dose not have alot of oil like Saudi of Kuwait, thier oil runn up long time ago, however they have been investing in thier own country and the whole UAE is nothing less than any Europen country esp Dubai.
Enough to say the Dubai is one of the world business centers.

Also, to let you know that ppl of UAE love the rolling family very much, this you do not see in Arab Countries !!

^^^^ Dzone UAE's oil didn't run up , they are still one of the world's biggest producers, but as you said they diversify their income (Tourism since the city of Dubai is trying to attract 10 million visitors by the year 2010 , Trade since they are a transit point for goods between Asia and Europe and Africa, A hub city for travellers between east and west especially Europe and Africa to Asia and Australia, plus it is a big Financial and research center in their region).They have a federal system since every one of the seven Emirates has to develop its own source of Income, and finally the Emaratis as you said love their ruling family because they share the Oil wealth with the local population ( an Emirati if he wants to get married will be offered a good sum of money and a piece of land to build his own house for free from the government).
