Some time ago a report stated that the Britons are the most surveiled people in the world. The average Britski is filmed by CCTV cams 300 times per day (so the average BRITON, not LONDENER). And guess what: now they're gonna strap cameras to the police helmets as well.

Ah well, at least the ridiculous size of the helmets is justified this way

They may need to get those here in the States so that the cops can have something to fall back on whenever the next guy with a camera films a 3 second clip of some cops forcing an unruly suspect down to the ground and then posts it on youtube.

Particularly if the suspect happens to be black.

Yeh, there was an advert on TV not so long ago saying we were filmed some 177 times a day by various different cameras. Thats why I always make sure I do my hair and brush teeth before I go out

You always say "thank you, cum again" when you're being bent over? Being filmed is one thing, but an average of 300 times a day is over the top imo. What does UK stand for? Under Kontrol?

Funny thing btw: the study in which that average was stated also said that most people don't mind being surveiled non stop. But guess what the majority of the British finds an invasion of their privacy? HAVING TO CARRY AN ID CARD IN THEIR WALLET Can any of you islanders explain that to us???

No, I dont really care about being filmed on the street or in shops etc, and I dont care if I had to carry an ID thing (although alot of people do for some reason). Is pretty much the same as a drivers license which everyone carries anyway...

What is the probem with being filmed in public places? Everyone can see you anyway and if ur not doing anything wrong then what difference does it make?

I dont see the problem with that.. If you got nothing to hide then getting you face snapped every few minutes aint so bad. Im sure the national identity card is gonna come in here soon enough and i guess im all for it. Theres alot of dodgy bastards living here now and noone knows who they are or where they come from.

They might be filmed 300 times a day but they certainly aren't watched 300 times a day. There's a big difference there.

99% of this footage will be completely unmonitored, kept for 2 weeks and then overwritten again.
