Re: Music from Laptop to Desktop
For macs it's a patch cable I think?? ethernet. Forms a network and your other computer shows on your desktop and you can put in anything you like . I assume pcs would operate in a similar way.The 'club spirit' is in the soul. It Never DiesOriginally posted by TheVrkit IS incredible isn't it??

Re: Music from Laptop to Desktop
You need a X cross over cable if your not using a hub or router.
Set your ip address to something similar, 192.168.1.1 and 1.2 ensure your subnet mask is the same i.e 255.255.255.0 these settings are in TCP-IP settings on your windows network config.
Create a shared folder on the target PC, ensure you can access this from the lappy, then just cut and paste."Pain is only weakness leaving the body."Comment

i would create a share imo. no worries about cables and shit.
w/ macs VERY easy. get a firewire cable, plug it in the laptop start it up whlie holding down the "T" and then plug it into the desktop... it shows up as a second drive on the desktop

Re: Music from Laptop to Desktop
^^^ Thought this could take a while but laptops don't have huge harddrives do they? Would mean you had everything backed up as well.

Re: Music from Laptop to Desktop
It's exactly the same on a mac as it is on a pc.
Crossover cable is all you need, which will set you back about $5.
No configuration is needed as I'm pretty sure windows' auto config ips share the same subnet."If not for Josh Wink, Sasha wouldn't own any Acid except for the paper stuff he dopes chicks with at clubs." - Jenks, 2004
