Re: Nick Warren - GU 30 Paris
I agree as Warren is undoubtedly a legend on his own. He has a huge fan base worldwide to support him from start to finish?I for one would love to see him go independent and release something new and a bit experimental i.e. for him to do what he wants? The Idiots ARE Winning.

Re: Nick Warren - GU 30 Paris
GU could definently go with some new headliners, i have been with them since the start and actually paved the way for me into the Underground! I started with 01 Tony De Vit (who only did one GU SET) and today i still chase the series. Yes, they have seemed to repeat themselves with the repition of DJ's and at the same time failed to bring any fresh talent. It would have been great to have a DJ like Desyn break into the main series. But hey you get what they give and they have GIVIN alot.................Nick Warren is an awsome DJ live in my humble opinion, he just seems to lack the PUNCH at times when it comes to the compilations!!!Comment

Re: Nick Warren - GU 30 Paris
Tony De Vit did two GU's. The first one from Isreal, and another one from somewhere in Asia...
Nick Warren's mixing has gotten incredibly lately (in my opinion). His last three GU's were phenomenal in terms of mixing, contruction and obviously track selection.
As far as how the label is still going because of the amount of time between releases, it's not like the GU cd's are the only thing the label does. In fact, because of all the promotion that the label does for the actual releases, they probably don't make muh money on those cd's based on sales. They make more money based on parties and tours to promote the cd's.Comment

I'm sure Tony would have been a huge dj, had he still been living. He passed away a while after doing the second cd for GU. Andy and Todd talk about it in the first GU DVD.Comment

anyone read the reviews so far? That disk one is supposed to be smokin'! And the tracks are choice on disk 2 as well.you could put an Emfire release on for 2 minutes and you would be a sleep before it finishes - Chunky
it's RA. they'd blow their load all over some stupid 20 minute loop of a snare if it had a quirky flange setting. - Tiddles

I love the GU series and like the fact that it takes a while for the CDs' to get released. how can one argue against Miami 27?? Deep Dishs' 25 was weak, but made up for it with the after hours sets. Anyways.....
New talent is indeed needed, how about me??Comment

PS: I played a nick warren afterparty, a party which most people at the party thought he sucked, and I did too, very disappointing. I had to play 3.5 hours from 4 am to get the jitters out of the poor people... what a snooze. It was pretty recent too.Comment

^ each to one's own mate but I think hernan is smoking at the minute and has been for a good few months!
But I do agree that Warren rocks it, every time........Comment

Re: Nick Warren - GU 30 Paris
Well after actually listening "first" to it, let me say this is Warren at his best, and like the man himself has said, he's always been put in the same lines as Digweed and Sasha but his style is very different than theirs, this is progressive house at his best, warm and melodic, dont get me wrong, I also like much of the minimal techno/house stuff but this is definitely the GU sound you expect to hear from him.."Nothing is True, Everything is Permitted"Comment
