I think u should give true love and express your feelings and dont expect anything from the other person.Just be yourself-Thats all that matters
Try to remember the good times you had with her
All those memories will live inside you always-be happy about it
if you really love someone, to the point where you fought for that person tooth and nail, but in the end, you werent compatible enough to maintain a relationship, do you love that person enough to say goodbye, to stop the pain you cause them? that is the ultimate love and respect, the love to walk away for the betterment of thier mind, heart, and soul.-- brother joseph genovese. chaminade high school. (obviously loosely quoted, as its a decade ago)
I dont think that its pointing towards love shared between a man and a woman as much as love between a parent a child and or brothers/sisters. What is the meaning of love, especially with that one person who you are truly meant to be with, if the ultimate sign of showing them that you love them means walking away from them. I can understand "letting them go" can mean you let them move on to a better place rather than suffer through uncurable sickness or whatever - but if you reached that level of "deep love" with that person, there would never have been a stage attained where you'd have to consider breaking up as an option. Not on the same page imo

I won't be back until next Tuesday, so if Get Carter is the correct answer, I would appreciate of someone else posts a new cap for me

I like your thinking. It all comes back, again, to commitment on both sides.
Some good advice on this thread for break ups. I don't know enough about your situation, but I'll add that it probably is best to give her some space and let her come back to you if that's what she wants or can do.
You mentioned external forces causing the break up and if that's true that's tough. Those situations don't happen that often, but I know they can happen when love isn't enough to keep people together.
I would only ask without knowing your situation that are you sure it's the outside forces? Usually we like to blame everyone, but the other person or ourselves. Was she unhappy, but you ignored certain things? I know it's tough to re-examine her intentions and was she in love like you, but it's something you should do at some point. A woman usually breaks up with a guy and most times guys just don't see it coming. Through experience there are tale tell signs that a woman isn't happy that in hind sight now make sense.
Again, I don't know your situation, but regardless there are plenty of other women out there looking for a relationship. Best wishes!

i'm getting through one day at a time. rise and shine can beat you on the games - got negative rep. just keeping myself occupied at the mo. its difficult to figure out what to do. just giving her space, but its strange losing someone u spent almost ever day with. i'm not really believeing it all.
i'm definitely not up for the rebound shag fest. i dont see it as an option, as stated since i really love her.
will have to see how things pan out. still trying to figure things out in my head.

I love you not because of who you are, but because of who I am when I am with you.
No man or woman is worth your tears, and the one who is, won't make you cry.
Just because someone doesn't love you the way you want them to, doesn't mean they don't love you with all they have.
A true friend is someone who reaches for your hand and touches your heart.
The worst way to miss someone is to be sitting right beside them knowing you can't have them.
Never frown, even when you are sad, because you never know who is falling in love with your smile.
To the world you may be one person, but to one person you may be the world.
Don't waste your time on a man/woman, who isn't willing to waste their time on you.
Maybe God wants us to meet a few wrong people before meeting the right one, so that when we finally meet the person, we will know how to be grateful.
Don't cry because it is over, smile because it happened.
There's always going to be people that hurt you so what you have to do is keep on trusting and just be more careful about who you trust next time around.
Make yourself a better person and know who you are before you try and know someone else and expect them to know you.
Don't try so hard, the best things come when you least expect them to.

That one struck me in particular. Most of my exes have ended the relationship in the worst possible way imaginable. A few years ago, I even slipped into a depression after a break up from hell (that was the reason for vanishing from ms for months). And all that time I asked myself why I got treated like that even though I've always been loyal and caring and treated my girlfriends with respect. Why did I deserve that while others who fucked around or treated their girl like shit didn't get smacked in the teeth? (I think you can relate to that thought Dhar).
And then I ran into Erzina and it all started to make perfect sense: if I hadn't gone through hell and back, I probably never would've known how lucky I really am right now.
Trust me Dhar, it's a bit like karma or whatever: when you treat people right and do the right thing, you'll get what you deserve.
Btw, here's a little tip to digest the break up a little smoother: start with a sport which wears you out to the bone. I picked up thaiboxing after that break up from hell and it helped me get through the hard parts. When you're constantly haunted by grief and what ifs, it's bliss to clear your mind and downsize the world to yourself and the guy in front of you for a few hours per week... Prevents you from flipping out, really...
already in the pipeline. gonna take up jiu jitsu. also organising to help teach english to people less fortunate, (remember i'm in italy) just to give something back.
feeling kinda ok, its a weird limboesque state. have to see how things go.
