Re: caffeine
caffeine isn't your concern man. its the amount of sugar you were getting with that much soda. seriously unhealthy...a litre of coca-cola has 48 cubes of sugar. just cutting that out of your diet will make you significantly more healthy. and drinking moderate amounts of caffeine per day is good for you. 1-2 cups of coffee is a good amount. keeps the kidneys and liver clean...
just cut out any caffeine after 2pm and you should be ok to sleep by 11 to 12pm.Comment

Re: caffeine
caffeine is an anti-oxidant according to new research so it's actually good for you. Just dont drink it at least 4 h before bed...also try having it from coffee rather than coke or at least go diet...The Idiots ARE Winning.

Re: caffeine
back in 2004 i stopped drinking soda cold turkey. Now the only carbonated drink i drink is beer.
Other than that, i get my once every day or two trip to starbucks etc for my mochas.. At dinner time i just drink water or OJ or lemonade..
Every once in awhile i do miss drinking Dr Pepper or Pepsi but for the most part i dont miss it at all.
Ive always been a skinny guy so i just stopped for health reasons cuz i was working out a lot... didnt quit for fatass reasons like yourself jib... but good move nonetheless! cold turkey is the only way to go.
Also.. i hate coffee by itself or with cream/sugar.. try a mocha or a latte or something else, theyre fuckin good. addicting too might i add

Re: caffeine
geez you need caffeine like that, pop a NoDoz or the like...get it nice and concentrated and it kicks in faster

Actually, on that note when I really need to go for a while, a caffeine pill & Red Bull does wonders...put you on a non-stop high...alas, the crash sucks

Re: caffeine
caffeine has a half life of 5 hours, so you really shouldn't be having to much for quite alot longer than 4 hrs before bed. more like 8-10 hours before bed, hence my 2pm recommendation.
and steve...find some really good coffee, add cream and non-processed (cane) sugar. try this for a few days, and mix with half hot chocolate if necessary. you will slowly learn to love it. i freaking enjoy the hell out of my first cup in the morning...Comment

Re: caffeine
Dude try green or black tea with some honey to start. Have a cup whenever you normally jones for some pepsi.
Smoke a bowl and make some. You'll love it.
Also try to drink at least 64oz of water a day.... if not more. Get a measured water bottle and see how you do. You'll find you feel a lot better when you are fully hydrated. When I was sick a few months back I had to cut out caffeine, my typical intake is around 2-4 cups of coffee in addition to 2-3 cups of tea, and drinking a lot of water throughout the day helped curb any caffeine fix I needed. Now that I'm fully recovered I have cut my caffeine in half and still retain the 64oz of water habit. It's a bit of a chore for a few weeks until it becomes routine. You could also try and increase the amount of exercise in your life. That will help as well.Comment

Re: caffeine
well being in Italy i do tend to drink alot of coffee. go through phase of having at least 2 espressos a day and then none. havent really noticed any withdrawl symptons.
i have cut down alot on soft drinks, mainly for the sugar and because water is more refreshing. its the weekedns that screw me over, when i start drinking cuba libre's like they are going out of fashion.
best thing to do is drink in moderation. 2l a day of pepsi, is too much. dont cut it out, just treat yourself every now and then.
