i can see "1 new message" notification, but the message folder is empty.

On the previous board version you had an unread PM. The messages could not be migrated to this board but the flag showing the number of PM's you had is still active. If you receive another message and delete it the correct number of PM's will be displayed.

Yes. One was from a male super model who invited you for a night in a luxury hotel and the other one was from a lottery where you won a Mercedes Benz. No big loss as you see.
