Well, soccer is pretty damn big here in San Diego, and every kid I knew growing up played soccer in Florida for at least 5 years, along with little league, lacrosse, and basketball...but anyway, I do see the sport picking up momentum here, just my thoughts.

my friends and i consider MLS as the retirement league of the world. beckham, maybe soon ronaldo and zidane. MLS will sure pay for them. it'll help make the MLS grow. that's all it's about.

no joke... if you don't like soccer, don't watch it. not like it steals the limelight from any mainstream american sport. most american sports don't even focus on the actual sport anymore, they are focused on all the scandals within them and their players. at least in soccer, there is a positive story instead of a negative one.
