just watched this last night, finally. i was honestly choked up through most of the movie. Cheadle gives an amazing performance. and watching the documentary style special features just added to my throat clogg. i'll be looking for that other movie threehills mentioned after i log out of this computer (at the library)

Sometimes in April is an incredible movie

There is actually a better movie out there about the Rwandan Civil war. I couldn't tell you for the life of me what it's called, possibly Sometimes in April but it was made before Hotel Rwanda, features no big names and goes into a lot more detail of the conflict including all the attrocities. I have seen it twice on PBS so keep your eyes open for it if you liked the Hollywood version

It was good. However, I felt there were moments when the acting left a little to be desired. But, nonetheless it is definately a must see.

i havent seen this yet but eople need to learn about the whole rwanda situation that went on wasnt it 1 in 8 of the population that died?

'Sometimes In April' was also a great film. i thought it was interesting how there was one scene that shows a clip from CNN announcing Kurt Cobains death, just letting you know this genocide was going on, and most of us had no clue. i'm not a bleeding heart or anything, but these two films are touching and it's a shame the american gov't did not intervene basically because they were afraid of having a Mogadishu type turnout.

no other genocide has ever had such a rapid pace of death, even the holocaust.



i highly recommend both films.
