Good effects, extremely linear and simple plot. Even for a children's film, they must've gone way overboard to simplify the books (haven't read them, but that's my guess). Things just happen very coincidentally and conveniently to progress the adventure of the girl.
But Nicole Kidman looks amazing

Yeah i thought this would be shit anyway...love nicole kidman though so I will probably see it...she won me over when she learned to speak Russian for a film called "birthday girl" (proper Russian is fucking hard for westerners, i don't know a single hollywood actor/actres that can speak remotly as good as she does) in addition to being talented she is one hot 40 year old!!!

as a big fan of the books i went with high expectations for this film. needless to say i was hugely disappointed, really crammed together and vital parts of the story left out and the ending???? what the fuck was all that about!! on a positive note though i thought the young girl was very good.
Your kids will probably enjoy it, and there's always Nicole Kidman
