just listening to sasha and digweeds Nothern Exposure Tour from 1997, u can't beat it, just loving every second and minute of it, just close u eyes and the feel the beat...
I miss the late 90's Sasha and Digweed sets. The crowd was there cause their were into the music, they knew their music, and most importantly their DJ's. I think right around the time that the Communicate album came out, the clubbing scene started to change (so did Sasha and Digweed's sound)... Where is this all going?
This always happens though... right? I mean.. it's all about the sounds you heard when you were young and impressionable. The really old skool ravers prolly thought the commercial-ness of S&D even back in the late '90's couldn't compare with '94 Digweed or something lol .. I guess that's my point.. I think in another 5-6 years (when stuff really starts to go down the crapper) we'll be looking back on this as another golden age in music.
You're trying to tell me the music is simply going further and further down the crapper? And will continue to do so as time goes on?
What rubbish.
It is as good as it used to be, infact I'd say it's better, so many great producers who can do so much more now.
I think the thing to remember is you will always hold the times gone by in high regard, as you remember the fondness of them.
Let's take the S&D era you're talking about... what else do you have around that time of similar vain? Not much. I can think of quite a few compilations this year alone that I put close to the calibre of NE, which have really blown me away.
Don't be so quick to write off the times we live in, don't take all the amazing music around you for granted.
Oh, and for the record, I too love my 6 NE discs and cherish them like nothing else, and they still get played very regularly.

I still like to listen to old stuff from Sasha circa 91/92, his sets from the Eclipse and Shelleys were what got me into Sasha, proper E music i just love that italo piano sound and a decent vocal, but sadly decent vocal tracks are a bit thin on the ground these days, Do You Want It Right Now by Degrees Of Motion is my favorite track of all time and sums up the whole era for me, If anyones interested check out Sasha @ G-Spot in Leeds from 1992, Sasha at his finest
Wouldn't loafers suggestion be fantastic, an old skool nite from the 2 of them would be awesome.
How many miles would you be prepared to travel for that?
I think I'd even go in my pregnant condition to see these 2 do an ol skool nite
