that isn't game if it isn't applicable. it's interesting because it was once true. However, the male/female dynamic has drastically changed over the last 20...30 years. Men are now less interested in Marriage, having kids. They are avoiding it. Marriage is such an incredible risk, that it's not even prudent to take it anymore. In the mean time, women are stuck with a selection of men who are not interested in long-term relationships.

It is not an equation that "now men are less interested in marriages, having kids...":
Again, it depends if you see it from the eyes of a 20 yr old, a 30 yr old or a 50 yr old; Every age has its own maturity, circumstances and way of interpreting his own needs and priorities, and also reading life.
In western societies where marriage is most often NOT quantified in love (the real basis of a union) but in financial terms instead;
If a car is becoming a luxury, how can a young person who is just starting his life, think about purchasing a house in order to start building a family?! It has become too costly.
YES, men want to have children as much as women want to coz the reproduction and the continuation of the bloodline is an instinct in humans, just like self-preservation and survival. But again, in the western societies it has become a luxury to be married and try to hold on to it. But that's not like this all over the world, the opposite exists as well.
I am not going into other factors that contributed to the fall of the "family union" and marital values, the church has also a role to play: In catholicism for instance, divorce doesn't exist, so u have to cancel a marriage and this is where ur pocket gets really hurt. By consequence, people who wana get married think about the divorce before even going to church, ironic!
Overcome this financial aspect of it and u might change ur mind about marriage as well.
As for the comment about giving 50% to a woman when divorcing;
The western states and gov cannot control this loss of "family union" within their free societies; the church that used to control that is no longer in the loop since a long time. So how to discourage divorce? Again, simply by hitting the pockets...YOU PAY!
But unfortunately this has backfired, and once a form of freedom has been granted u cant just take it back, not in the free world.
And besides all this social/financial/religious aspects, let me ask you this from a morale aspect:
Suppose you married a woman for 20 years, you loved her so much, she gave you her life, her devotion, her love, gave u children etc etc.... Now 20 yrs later things took another turn in this marriage where both of u seek divorce: will you simply throw her on the streets? The mother of ur children? Whether she has money or not, thats not the point. Well let me answer that for you: you might not do it, but unfortunately not everyone is righteous in society. Some might just throw their women out on the streets after "usage" (pardon the term), and the state/gov is here to make sure that her rights are preserved by guaranteeing her whatever amount she needs to continue her life as she wishes in dignity she deserves and not as a beggar (or else, sadly)

Women today have high paying jobs...Most are not the "housewife" that was around 50 years ago, that stayed home all day and took care of things(Not earning a paycheck)....So, why don't we get half of theirs if we "gave them our lives, gave them our children, etc???
