Monitors with Tv tunners

does anybody know a good option, i had a viewsonic vx2025w 22" but for some reason my sis took it and leave me with an old Dell monitor of 15" ultrasharp model...

1680x1050 and now 1024x768...so kinda sux....a window of msn take almost half screen...

so since i dont have a tv on my room i want to know if proper monitor that i can use also as tv....19" 22" should do the work...

any recommendations?.....

just buy a cheap 22" monitor with a TV tuner card.... thats' your best bet imo... you'll get the TV output via HiDef from the Comp (provided you connect to it via DVI from your video card)

These days, you might have better luck just looking for a TV that has a VGA input -- most flat panels do. Probably more variety going that route. I have a 62" DLP that doubles as a computer monitor, and it does a bang up job. Most modern TVs work as monitors, while the opposite is not true.

yea exact what i was going to say because if something goes wrong in the one unit ur left with no tv and also no monitor

atleast if u buy the 2 separate you can go without one if that make sense when it comes to watching tv with no monitor lol

what i,m trying to say is that if u get the tv tuner u can record thing to ur hard drive i dont know if the same goes for monitors with tv tuners

yes.... if you have vista, turn your computer into a TV tuner.....though I dont know if Microsoft releases XML feeds for TV Listings in other countries.

nvidia geforce 7300 se/7200 gs

so the maximux resolution that my monitor could put was 1680x1050, can i get a bigger res into a tv?

the highest resolution you will get from a TV is Full HiDef which is 1920 x 1080 lines. Get a monitor and get a TV Tuner card to install into you PC, that is your best bet.

While people believe that 120 hz refresh rate on LCD makes it just as good (not equal to) a plasma resolution and I am one of them. My TV has it and I have yet to see any ghosting. But I dont leave it on all the time because when viewing photos, for some reason the photos tend to look shitty. So movie viewing-wise both are the nearly the same.

Plasma weighs a lot more and heats up a lot more.

LCD is lighter and doesn't heat up as much.

Both are nearly in the same price range now.

You can get either and you should be fine.

PS: They don't make Plamsa Computer monitors afaik

well my price limitiations are around 500 and 600 us dollars, since im buying also a ps3 thats also why i want better a tv hehe instead of the tvtunner

If you buy that in the states, you should be able to get it on sale for about $750 or less. The 5 series are the budget line from Samsung. It's not bad, just can be found for much less than 1,300.
