went insane trying to figure out how to sort songs in playlist. On my 3rd gen iPod, i could simply sort the playlist in iTunes when the iPod was connected to the computer and it would sort the songs in the ipod. No such luck on the latest ipod version. Was busting my head trying to figure it out until I found this
1. Create your playlist normally on your iPod
2. Click the Name column (or artist or album or whatever you want to sort the music by) to sort the songs
3. create an empty playlist. Give it the name you want your final playlist to have
4. on the first playlist you created, which should now be shown as sorted, select all the songs with ctrl+a.
5. drag the contents of the first playlist into the second
6. delete the first playlist (it is unsorted after all)
7. enjoy your sorted playlist
