anyone here do swimming in hs/college? I've always had the utmost admiration for those people because of the high level of dedication required.
From the age of 13 I used to get up at 5am four days a week and swim about 3 miles before school. Then I would head straight back to the pool after school to do another 3 miles, but we did this Monday to Friday. I then swam on Saturday mornings for two hours.

I now have shoulders like tree trunks!

yeah, this! there was only one group who worked longer hours than we did at marching band, and it was the swimmers. do you still compete or coach at all?
No sir, I took up water polo, then discovered the magical world of clubbing, drugs and women. I haven't been in a pool for years.. sad really.
Just a little bit of running track. I have no hand / eye coordination to do anything else LOL. I did do martial arts for 5 years and was one belt away from getting a black belt. Only reason I didn't is because I wasn't learning anything new and had to wait an entire year before I could test for it...
Would love to get into something someday when I have the time & money... Maybe back into martial arts? It would be a fantastic way to stay in shape I think.
WoW, will all the superstar athletes on MS, do any of you have anything on video you can upload? I have a lacrosse scuffle somewhere on VHS, doubt it's worth uploading though.
ASDF: what position did you play in lacrosse, did you play in college and do you still find time to play at all?
Sightless: that's badass, I didn't know you were a hockey player, what position?
Lucky: where did you play Football in college? I had a few friends that played college football in Cali.
Corven: how did you find the transition from inline to ice? That's pretty damn interesting!
Garrick: sounds like you are probably the biggest natural athlete on MS judging by your resume of so many differing sports. Which one is your favorite?
I also played basketball, soccer when i was little. Played baseball from tee-ball - age 16.
In High School I played Volleyball in grade 9 and 10 and one year on the girls Rugby team in grade 11.
Since grade 7 right through to my second year in college I curled. My team came in 3rd in the Junior Ladies All Ontario Championship twice. I curled for one season after college and haven't played since. I will however be starting up again in September in the mixed league at my old club. Really looking forward to getting back out there
Squash/Racquetball for the past 7 years with my dad and another friend of mine (although I took the past 3 yrs off when I lost my mind and dated my ex, lol). Just got back into it so I am a little out of shape, but loving it.
And most recently I started taking golf lessons. Everyone in my family golfs, so I thought I would give it a try so I can play with my dad as well as my best friend.
sigpic RIP Steve "Jibs" James - Your footprint is forever on my soul and in my heart xoxo RIP Jeff Shewchuk aka DJ Jeff Taylor (day_for_night) - You will live on in my heart forever xoxo
Life isn't about how to survive the storm, but how to dance in the rain.
