Splitting up tracks on a set.

I was thinking about making a cd cover (front,back,booklet) for a hernan cattaneo set. I was just wondering with which program can I split up the set without a space in between each track?

use cue sheets in Nero.
there used to be a guideline for it on this site somewhere, but damned if i can find it now.

look for the freeware program mp3 split. you can only break up three tracks at a time, but hey it'z free

you want to make a cd jewel case cover?
what does that have to do with how you burn the cd? i dont get it. :?

if you want to spit the set, to have tracks on the cd u can creat a cuesheet and then burn it with nero or other burners that suport cueshhets
if you dont know how to use the cuesheet, you can split the set using a split program, and then burn the tracks using nero, choosing the option no pause in between the tracks , but you might hear a little noise when the tracks change
the cue sheet its the best option , but you can try the other option too if you dont know how to work with cuesheets

sonic foundry's CD architect is the easiest possible...

getting a hold of it is a bit tougher

I have done this this way without hearing that noise. What I hate is burning an MP3 file as audio WITH a cueSHIT and have those anoying gaps between the tracks!!! Not that it always happens. I guess it depends on the burner being used or something...

Now, today I've been looking for something else and searched the forum but haven't found any topic on that.

I from time to time I record a set and I give it to friends or as a promo. I usually insert index marks in SoundForge and split them using those masrk in Nero, then burn it with 0sec gaps so they can skip to a certain track on the CD.

This works great but, what if I want to upload the set as an MP3? Then I'll need to do the cue sheet. My question is: If I already have an indexed wav file, does Nero or any other program automatically creates the cue sheet based on that index marks? or do I need to write down each mark for every track and build the cue sheet manually?

I use acid for splitting up my tracks for cd promo release. Always worked well for me. I also use it instead of cuesheets. Sometimes I just like to break it up on my own. I can do it faster than burning a cd with a cue sheet image. Damn that takes a while.

The thread about how to make a cuesheet is here: http://www.mercurynation.com/forums/...pic.php?t=4408 and once you have the Cuesheet and the mp3 in the same folder and both are labeled with the same name, just open Nero, choose from the Menu on the Top "Copying and Backup" (names may be different in english Nero versions, I use the German version of it) and click on "Burn Image to CD" and just point to the cuesheet. Nero will do the rest and the burning dialogue shows up. I heard that there is an older version of Nero which is not able to work with cuesheets properly so if you still have problems you may consider to update your Burning software.

^^ I guess I got an older version of Nero bc everytime I go to burn the image, it open up another session and locks up. (Version 6.3.1.12)

Do cue files work with iPod/iTunes??

I think playlists do ... but not cues.

If you're using nero, make sure you select "Disk at Once" in the options you see just before you strat the burn, this will ensure no gaps between the tracks.

Probably the same holds true for other s/w as well

agreed. cd architect makes it very easy to split tracks and burn it... all in one program.
