And just to break it down for the club, based on how much it costs them to design, print and distribute the flyers all they need is a 2% return to be ahead if they charge only 5 bucks at the door.

And like I said, the beauty about flyering is you're hopefully pulling people who normally wouldn't know about the club or what's going on at the club plus you have the people in the know showing up as well and you're just reinforcing what you're doing to them.

Cool, I have some speadsheets that break it down even more and they might even help when approaching and negotiating with clubs/bars to show them the potential.

Alright guys, thank you and i agree with flyering having even more sense than facebook/myspace, promoters here underestimate them heavily aswell. And now back to my 2nd question .. What is the preferred genre in clubs at your location nowadays?

^I think it's safe to say there are more clubs playing hip-hop than edm, unfortunatley oakey was right about that.

Quite a bit of hip-hop, very little edm, wait let me rephrase that - one night perhaps of edm (mostly house - not my fav) and then there's mostly reggae/dancehall rest of the week.

^^^that's one of the main reasons I don't go out in this city. I will NOT go to a club just to hang out and people watch. I need good music first.

95% of people I know label dance music as "techno" ... they can't tell the difference.

I'm not sure anymore. It was electro 2+ years ago in Southern California, now it's back to "house" im pretty sure.

I am pretty sure every promoter knows 3 basic edm 4-4 genres as house, trance and techno .. those i meant. Of course, dnb or dubstep can be overwhelming now in some locations and i'd like to know that too ..
