The thing with the original Northern Exposure is like Digweed mentions on the JJJmixup. It was about playing the tracks that they couldn't play in the clubs. John mentions Keiichi Suzuki - Satellite Serenade in the interview as one of them tracks. I think the problem at the beginning was certainly the EDM press just didn't get it. I remember DJ Magazine refused to even give the first Northern Exposure compilation a rating, although they reviewed it. They thought it was so bad (or they just didn't get it). This is to me it is the greatest mix CD ever. I think Sasha & Digweed diverted a bit from the original idea with the other 2 compilations because of this. But the other two where still really good.

NE1's simply a timeless classic ... I even tried to find that polar bear pic from the inside so I could get it blown up for my wall !

track 7 slacker your face, what remix is it, doesnt sound like all the other remixes I've heard, i think the ID is wrong cuz there is more girl vocals on this one.

I decided to have another go at ripping this again and joining all the parts together and at 320kbps. I dont know if its an improvement as all versions of this (including mine) have been ripped from the mixtape that was available in record shops up and down the country. I did it a few months ago but forgot about it because I was sidetracked doing the Jimmy Van M tapes. If Hambrecht sends me the tapes he wants converting we should up for some exciting mixes very soon.

Its hard to tell after a while of flicking backwards between different versions you start lose judgement
