I am not a speed demon that's for sure. If my son is in the car I even go a little slower (not much), just enough to let everyone know I have a child in the car and I'm trying to be safe.

its not rocket science this. if your going faster its going to take you longer to stop, the fact that a truck is in the way is just trying emphasise the point. he really should be pulling up the hand break and turning the wheel and doing some quality drifting to avoid the truck

Unfortunately most people do just brake, and sometimes if you are in a line of traffic, you don't have a choice. . But as pumper&dumper said it was a setup to emphasise a point. And at this time of the year we need that emphasis

yes but I think the point they were trying to drive home is that even a marginal speed increase (i.e. 5mph) can end disastrously.

Yeah slow down, i drive like a grandad and i'm proud of it.
The Uk is full of young men in tiny cars with big engines driving like fuckin idiots around the streets.
If you want to soup your car up and drive fast do it at a race track, not outside schools or in town centres!

Lads who've worked with me who are into cars baffle me completely. Ask them what they're up to at the weekend they say "nothing, i'm saving up for a big exhaust" - great

A week later ask them what they did on saturday night and they say "nothing, i've got 2 speeding fines to pay"

I'm not saying speeding is ok, but the real problem with that video is the fucking truck driver. No one would have hit him had he not pulled out in front of the cars. Both of them had to stop so that fucking retard shouldn't have pulled out. If the entire truck could not clear the intersection prior to the car who wasn't going 5 km over the limit, then in all cases the truck driver or any other driver is at fault, not the speeder OR the non speeder.

While I agree this is supposed to represent the unforseen 8 year old running out to get his kick ball but for fucks sake speeding doesn't kill nearly as many people as insurance companies want you to think. The times speeding is the SOLE factor in accident related deaths is probably A LOT less than we are led to believe.

That's my 2 cents. Speeders cause less traffic problems where I live than those people who are going under the speed limit in an effort to be safe.
