How dare the top bush lawyer have the gall to claim that "smoked marijuana has no future in medicine." I'm sorry, do you have an M.D. after your name, sir? A PhD? No? Why, then, would you think that you have the knowledge or the authority to dictate how very, very sick people can mitigate their debilitating pain? Do you know how much LESS it will cost the American taxpayer if they have this kind of pain relief? Perhaps you should Rush Limbaugh how far he would go to relieve his pain.

All I have to say is that this is the reason why I'm going into medicine - to tell these arrogant fucks who make drug policy in the US to step the fuck off. The whole reason this is an issue in the first place is that the drug regulators refuse to make mj a schedule 2 drug when it has been PROVEN to have multiple medical uses. To all those conservatives out there who think that God is giving the neocon right the right to rule this country, pray that you don't get sick and need this drug. How this will enable greater addiction, I really don't know. Would you rather be pain free and addicted to pot or live every day in hell? Hmmm...let me think.

Sorry to rant, but if the Supreme Court closes the door on this VERY SAFE, VERY EFFECTIVE treatment of sick people, WHOSE STATES VOTED TO LEGALIZE MEDICAL MARIJUANA, then I really might give up on this country.

the main reason they dont want it around is the fact that it is too easily grown and cultivated, and if legalized , they would have an extremely hard time taxing it for the first few years. many people would simply grow it themselves and thereby avoid the sales taxes associted with it. also, it would replace tobacco for the most part, thereby losing that taxable income. also, it is cheaper to grow and sell it, so that also affects the sales price and furthermore the amount of tax associated with the prduct. the really dont give a rats ass about the medical pro's/con's of pot.

It is shown to reduce anxiety and induce hunger as well as reduce pain for chemo patients. And those that have taken anxiety pills know that you lose your appetite and can't eat. MJ on the other hand reduces the anxiety and again induces hunger....sorry for the redundancy...booyashaka

(study was done by deloitte and touche a few years back, they were working for the FDA. it should be in the FDA archives. i remember studying it for auditing techniques and estimates) hope i could help shed some light.

In Holland Marihuana has been legalized also for medical use. This MJ is grown by government-appointed producers, so the medically indicated use and sales can be controlled by the gvt. And therefore also the taxes.

The gvt buys the stuff off contracted growers, and then sells it to the distributors.

On second thought...the infrastructure was here already, and MJ had already been legalized, so it wasn't too contradictory for the government to make deals with producers.

In the US it's forbidden, so it would be totally contradictory to ask of people to grow a forbidden plant so they can buy it and redistribute it themselves of course.
On the other hand: a government can design laws which give it a monopoly on the production...

Who is clueless?? How exactly would it "replace" tobacco, thats pretty clueless if you ask me. Anyone who smokes tobacco now, would only smoke more if they started smoking pot too. Ask anyone who smokes both.

I'm assuming you mean "ounce" and if so you realize how badly your getting ripped off on that "product"?? Either that or your getting a heck of a deal. If your referring to getting something very good, then you need to hook us up with those prices. And if not, you better start trying to find another source.

bad news is that marijuana won't be legalized anytime soon. the country in general is moving to the right and they consider marijuana smoking immoral. not my opinion, but that's the way it appears things are headed.

I've got to agree with this statement no matter how many legitimate reasons can be found to change the status quo it would require our government to say that themselves and their policies have been wrong for the past 70+ years. And nobody likes to admit a mistake especially not governments.
