anyone ever read Conversations with God?

just finally got over the begining 50-75 pages & its really starting to get crazy!

It's not a bible-thumping, right-wing, call to arms.

It's about a normal guy in the middle of his life who is about to freak out. He is tried of his life, tired of everything. He writes these long letters to everyone in his life instead of confronting them, never really gives them to people. He's not even really that spiritual.

So one day he asks "god" why? And god answers back. He begins to ask god every question you can imagine. Through a series of 3 books god answers every question he asks through letters the man wirtes, about everything you can think of!

its pretty interesting and doesn't have anything to do about "religion".

Interesting how this thread was stereotyped just because of the word God. I do not think I want to know what God knows. Does sound like an interesting concept.

yeah a little of both, but I'm not very far. It's a pretty heavy read.

I guess he (god) just answers the man's questions in a very rational way & in a way that makes a lot of sense.

I read that book a few years ago. I thought book 1 was very cool, but then I read book 2 and it just goes a little too far into the deep end for my tastes. Basically, God starts telling him to be a selfish asshole and God gets really conceited. So basically, if you follow the logic in book 1 and take it a step further like he did in book 2, "God" ends up sounding like another biblical character who we're all familiar with.



That should give you a clue.

I promise you won't be able to make it more than 75 pages into the second book without seeing these conversations with "God" for the bullshit that they are, but yeah, book 1 was pretty cool.
