Re: quick question on windows.
or click on start button in windows, then set program access and defaults, this will let you set your defaults for any device in windows..."America will never be destroyed from the outside. If we falter and lose our freedoms, it will be because we destroyed ourselves." - Abraham Lincoln

HAHAHHA! Thats the first time I have EVER heard that Windows Media player is better than WINAMP. Are you using WINAMP 2.x or 3.x??? Than ya maybe, but if youre okay with Windows Media Player hogging up 20MB of memory on the system than go right ahead.
WA 5 is much better. I still find it really hard to believe that Windows media is at version release 10 (already.) goes to show what a piece of utter shit it is. but dont take this from me, Im partial to Winamp, cuz it pays my bills. hehe.
Try to go into Windows Media player and look for the file associations button. And ya, if you dotn want Winamp, then uninstall it.

Have you tried disabling the Fast layer EQ decoder that comes by default on winamp? It does sound better without it.

I'm still using 2.95 too, I don't need those 2mb skins...Comment

Re: quick question on windows.
no, i have a fucking bad ass soundcard that has custom EQ within itself and the winamp EQ makes it all hollow and drony. the basslines coming outta my subs sound like they are coming outta the system from a 56 ford car stereo. shit. i need the media player (from pack 3) IN ORDER TO default the EQ back to the sound card for the purposes of allowing the sound card to control the output of the sampler i have. weird setup, but works simply.your life is an occasion, rise to it.

You can't have manslaughter without laughter.
"Son," he said without preamble, "never trust a man who doesn't drink because he's probably a self-righteous sort, a man who thinks he knows right from wrong all the time. Some of them are good men, but in the name of goodness, they cause most of the suffering in the world. They're the judges, the meddlers. And, son, never trust a man who drinks but refuses to get drunk. They're usually afraid of something deep down inside, either that they're a coward or a fool or mean and violent. You can't trust a man who's afraid of himself. But sometimes, son, you can trust a man who occasionally kneels before a toilet. The chances are that he is learning something about humility and his natural human foolishness, about how to survive himself. It's damned hard for a man to take himself too seriously when he's heaving his guts into a dirty toilet bowl."Comment
