Dustin Hoffman and the underground world of horse racing, are you kidding me? Hell yes.

Nick Nolte, Dennis Farina, Michael Gambon and the pilot directed by Michael Mann. This could be my new favorite show out right now. If this tops Homeland I am going to be one damn happy camper.

Anyone else watch the pilot?

I know it's only the pilot episode, but I have to say I absolutely loved it! HBO might've hit a homerun in taking a chance on David Milch for the 2nd time. I can't wait for next week's episode!

This was good. I have to say I was pretty confused about all of the gambling lingo though since I have no idea how any of that works. Looks like it should be a good season. Plus I like the reuse of music from Heat which is one of my favorite movies.

yeah the horse betting lingo is a bit tough to keep up with. I know a little, but not nearly enough to grasp the finer points.

I have a feeling that both Hoffman and Nolte are going to be great in this series. Hoffman especially.

Hoffman was great in the pilot episode...he had a real edge to his demeanor all pissed off right out of the clink

Anyone else watching this? Has been a slow build up, but the last two episodes have been really good imo. Dustin Hoffman is great and the music in the last episode I thought really kicked ass. Hopefully will keep building and lead to some good stuff by the end of the season.

Been finding it difficult getting into these slow series as much as I'd like to. Eg, couldn't get into Boss.

Dustin Hoffman, Dennis Farina and Nick Nolte make this show for me. The slowness hasn't bugged me but I can see how some of you are looking for a quicker build. Hang in there feather!
