Ben Micklewright AKA BLM turns out number 99 this week, stick a flake in it and turn it up! Mixing house and garage since he was just 15, and a graduate from a sound engineering degree, Ben has been in the game a long time. It comes as little surprise then that his career is beginning to flourish. His label, Fear Of Flying, is still going strong after 7 years and over 50 releases, many of which we have ourselves purchased over the years. His solo studio work is also kicking off; Underground Quality, Tsuba and Sudden Drop have all been put out his minimal deep house sound, which finds its way into many top drawer DJ's boxes. The mix is deep, moody and romantic, and was recorded, strangely, at 8 in the morning just after he woke up. Cheers Ben, a cracking way to end the double figures. Next stop, 100!
