    Good luck to anyone in the path of Rita

    I feel safe here between Austin and San Antonio but then again who knows what is going to happen. Even here it has become very hard to find bottled water and milk. I may have to give my one year old some kool aid or spit in his bottle :wink: (man that sounds nasty)

          Craziest time ever in this town

          I'm in Houston and we're expecting the storm tomorrow night. The city is going crazy right now looking for gasoline. All the stores are closing and the freeways are jammed. They're estimating 80 to 100 mile per hour wind where I'm at, so I'm hoping the apartments I live in hold up.

          For those wondering, many of us can't get out of the city. We're stuck because there isn't any gas and the freeways are too congested. People are running out of gas while on the freeways and are now stuck in 100 degree heat. Today was the hottest day on record in Houston.

          Hopefully, the storm continues to head east of us.

                  I live by the Galleria inside the loop. You're up north, so you'll be a little less impacted than me, but I worry about all those pine trees up there.

                                              It looks to be moving away from the Houston area, but we know how erratic these things can be. Plus it doesn't have to be a direct hit to cause widespread destruction and spawn tornados and other lunacy.

                                                      I'm with you that I got my food, water, left the woman a couple weeks ago though, and I'm ready to ride this bitch named Rita out too.
